Perfect Boredom Solutions & Some Sad Recalls

Yes! I think I had found the cure to boredom. By randomly picking some books & correcting their mistakes with a mechanical pencil by referring to their respective errata list provided by their publisher’s website, I am able to keep myself occupied for a long amount of time today.

Anyway, I’m going to do something different tomorrow. I’m going to start studying for a subject that I failed in my O’levels back then prior to entering this school. I have always been a lazy student, especially more so in my previous school. I never/rarely studied, do any home works, nor pay much attention in class since I am unable to look at the white board clearly (due to me not wearing spectacles). Still I managed to scrape through each year somehow. My luck seems to finally run out when the O’levels result are released, getting mainly Bs & failing a very important subject by 1 grade.

I went around different polytechnics to appeal & it’s not a fun process. Talking to teachers at different polytechnics to ask for advices, writing appeal letters and so on. There is 1 particular teacher I met at 1 of the schools I believe I will never forget. She told me, in a cocky manner, that it’s totally impossible for any polytechnic to accept me & advise me not to waste any time trying to appeal at other polytechnics for any courses and just go to ITE and get a NITEC & come back 2 years later. By saying that it also means to me that she is discriminating against a big group of people & that could potentially get her into more troubles. Anyway I could only blame myself for not studying hard & I’m really lucky again when 1 of the polytechnics accepted my appeal. While it isn’t a course I liked, I’m sure it will lead me somewhere. After all the fine line between different subject areas are getting blurrier nowadays =).

To put some of these sad memories behind me, I must retake this subject as a private candidate this year & hopefully pass it. Good-bye.
